Adopt our school!

Dear Families,

We’re thrilled to announce that our school is taking part in the 2017 Indigo Adopt a School program! From September 16 to October 8, our school will be working to raise funds in support of our library.
There are three ways that our community can support our school during the Adopt a School program:
  1. Book Bonus: For every two books you donate to our school online, the Love of Reading Foundation will donate a bonus book, up to 100 books!*
  2. Tell a Story, Give a Story: Every time you post a story to our Adopt a School profile, the Love of Reading Foundation will donate one book in support of our school library, up to 20 books!
  3. Adopt a School Story Contest: “Heart” your favorite story to help us win big! The five most-loved stories in each province will be entered into a random draw for a chance to win* a grand prize of a $2,500 Indigo eGiftcard to purchase books! The remaining four top “hearted” schools in each province will win a $500 Indigo eGiftcard to purchase books.

* The Love of Reading Foundation values a book at $10. To learn more, check out our Program Overview and Contest Details pages.

Our school is going to receive every dollar raised to support our library and a 30% discount off books when we shop at Indigo, Chapters and Coles using program donations.

Please visit adoptaschool.indigo.ca from September 16 to October 8 to show your support for our library! I look forward to surprising the staff and children at J. A. Cuddy School with all the new library books this year!

Sincerely,

Mr. Thomson
Principal

Choral Workshop

Do you like to sing?
Are you in Grade 5 – 8 this year?

Come spend a day singing in a choir
                                           with others your age
                           from all over Central Manitoba!

The Central Manitoba Choral Association is hosting their annual one-day
Choral Workshop for Grades 5-8
this year in Winkler, MB
Monday, October 16, 2017
(Note: Sanford hosted this event two years ago!)

Choirs rehearse all day in preparation for the 4:00pm concert for friends, family and the community. The three choirs—grade 5, grade 6 and grade 7/8 choirs—will showcase the songs they learned during the day at the workshop. It's amazing to see what they can do! The concert will also feature a guest performance by the Central Manitoba Youth Choir (a senior high choir), making this their final stop of their 4-day tour around central region!

This is an excellent opportunity to experience choral music
under the leadership of professional conductors!

The conductors are ready to work with all levels of singers
(from those who don't read music to experienced singers) – all are welcome!

To register: Use the school’s cash on-line service to make the $15 payment.
Then fill out the attached form and return it to your teacher by Friday, Sept. 22nd.

Transportation:  Car-pooling arrangements from Sanford can be organized. Please contact Onnolee Scharf (email onnolee.scharf@gmail.com or ph/text 204-299-3997) to offer/request car pooling to/from this event.
